We are pleased to introduce you to Settlers Landing, a residential community for individuals using Vista Outreach and Community Support services. This project of 24 condominium units (one may be purchased by Vista, leaving 23 available) within one contiguous structure including allocated storage space per unit, common space, a common kitchen and office as well as a separate meeting and office center (Dibble House), is a result of several years of collaborative work between our two organizations. Vista and the project developer, 1961 Boston Post Rd., LLC, formed a collaborative arrangement to develop the property and offer it for occupancy to Vista Members. We have worked with the town of Westbrook and with state and local authorities to have a crosswalk approved and bus stops placed directly in front of the property. The design of the building and the units has been completed with advice by Vista representatives to ensure it meets the needs of the Vista member community as well as ADA standards. Units are available for purchase. Occupancy is limited to active Vista members. The building and grounds external to the units is controlled and managed by the Settlers Landing Association, Inc. The association will provide general upkeep and maintenance to the common areas of the property. Vista will occupy the Dibble House for ongoing operation of its programs. There will be group activities for Settlers Landing occupants that are paid for through the condo fees. Individual Vista (life skills, vocational, program counseling) services are paid for by the Vista member and/or sponsor. Settlers Landing has met with final approvals and is currently under construction. The land has historic roots, being the site of one of the first settlements in Westbrook. The Dibble House is the name of the original house on this site. What better than to celebrate the pioneer spirit of the Vista membership by naming the project Settlers Landing. It is expected that Settlers Landing will be ready for purchase and occupancy late Spring/early Summer 2016. Due to the interest in this project, we are collecting the names of interested parties who may wish to purchase a unit. A Priority List will be devised that will determine the order in which an interested family may be eligible to purchase a unit. Letters of Interest will be collected from November 10, 2015 through December 22, 2015. For information on how to submit a letter, please refer to the procedures located on the website. The website contains information on the details of the project. We will be posting information on the website as new information exists. It is expected that we will determine the Priority List by seniority no later than January 29, 2016 and the developers will be contacting interested parties after that date. We have enjoyed the collaboration and opportunity to put this project together knowing it will enhance the lives of the women and men receiving services from Vista.
